Snowpack

The snow pack depth throughout the ski area varies from rocks with a few cm of wet snow and MF crust on southerly aspects to 120 cm on windloaded northerly aspects. The northerly aspects contain three distinct graupel layers from the 11/9-10 storm. The largest most distinct layer 2-5mm also contains dust. On protected slopes there is 3-8mm surface hoar. This is also combined with depth hoar developing in the basal layers and near surface faceting at the surface. The warm air temp have also been creating crusts. The snow pack is generally not reactive in tests but is setting up to be interesting with any added load.
