Snowpack

Hiked Snodgrass from Gothic Trailhead. Heard a few air pockets on the skin track. Dug a pit in aspen trees on 28 Degree slope. H.S. of 195 cm. New snow found in upper 53 cm. Found buried facets between 75 and 81 cm. A pencil crust was located between 46 and 50 cm on top of facets between 45 cm and the ground. No collasping of pit while digging. Level 1 CBMG class saw a remotely triggered slide on NE slope near my pit. Air temperature was 30 degrees farenheit and light snowall around 11:15 AM.
