Had a pretty phenomenal day skiing in the Selkirks North of Revelstoke. We skied two laps of a west facing slope at treeline. The snow was definitely a little dense, but it was deep. We experienced shooting cracks while skinning near ridgetop, but they didn't propagate too far. The zone we were in was mostly pretty mellow, open trees, but the one steep slope I entered on the descent resulted in a big crack shooting out around me. Fortunately nothing slid, but it was definitely a reminder that conditions were on the spicy side. It snowed all day, anywhere from 1-2 cm per hour. Winds were pretty light at ridgetop.
