AST2 group out for the day. Hummingbird Pass, Evening Ridge to Selous Pass ridge top. We dug a snow profile in the first open clearing near the ridge, 1:30 pm, east facing, 2000m elevation, 33-degree aspect, snowpack varying between 120-140. During our tests we had one CTE2 10cm down with surface hoar between 2-4mm, repeating only once. The snow on the ski down, back towards Hummingbird Pass was light and enjoyable. Snow on the way back to the parking lot on the southern aspects was crusty and challenging.
