1 rider caught, carried in small avalanche. According to third-hand reports, after the fracture the rider hunkered down and tried to arrest on the bed surface. Avalanche flowed over the rider, carried them a short distance. Rider was able to stand up and free themselves from the debris.
On 2/13, observers experienced extensive cracking and felt the avalanche was unsafe to approach for a FLP. Cracking was on a mid-January surface hoar layer 20 to 30 inches deep.
