Breaking trail with a ski penetration of 40cm. Boot pen was waist deep. Rapid warming was effecting the Hahns peak area seeing several standing dead trees fall over on out hike. pit tests showed a 138cm overall depth @ 8800ft E aspect. Layers were deceptive to locate with CT & SS test. ECT tests showed low slab potential *VERY suspicious*. The pack is showing signs of relieving tention & a trend of dense snow from the ground up. Any sandwiched lighter layers are quickly changing. We threw a ski cut on a 60 ft wide chute with a 40 degree slope ( with slight wind load), N/NE, @9000ft. Resulting in 1 foot slab, 30ft wide and ran about 300ft. This top layer was wet and heavy with a clean and interesting firm but light texture. No other results sluffs, slides or any whumphs. Any wind loaded areas have great potential. Thanks for your work.
