Weather at 8:40AM at 11,200ft was snowing at approximately 2-3cm/hr on a flatter SE slope. Wind was light to moderate on unprotected slopes blowing to NNE, and temperature was -9degC. By 1PM at the same location temperature had risen to -6degC and there was approximately 10-15cm of new snow hence the 2-3cm/hr snow rate.
Snowpack
One snowpit was dug at 11,200ft on a near tree-line SE slope not significantly affected by wind (below the ridge to broom hut). Test results included two CTHQ1SC at 150cm deep on depth hoar, and a PST 100/100 with no propagation on the same layer. A quick hand-CT was dug about 40-80ft of altitude above the snowpit on a windy slope. It was not possible to isolate the block before it failed for a hand compression test. There were approximately 10-15cm of snow snow (F) over a pencil slab of 5cm over more soft snow.
