Snowpack

8-12 inches of new snow on S. Diamond Peak. Areas with a persistent slab buried under the new snow and areas of wind slab observed. We had one whompfing event and a crack happen on a relatively steep but very minor slope. I had a couple of cracks happen skiing on a NE facing slope on the SE edge of S. Diamond Peak although it is hard to tell as I was skiing relatively fast and nothing propagated. We skied most of the day safely without any visible clues of instabilities. But we did not dig any pits. However we did observe a "smaller" slide that was triggered by a party whom we hung out with and skied with during the day. Luckily everyone was safe.
