Weather

Windy and damp with a few brief graupel spurts. Snow started @ 2 pm; steady S1-2 for next 2 hours w diminished winds.

Snowpack

HS 110-150. 60 cm slab F+ --> 4F+ @ base. Moist at top. Thin layer FC 35 cm down from last Sunday. Prominent 2-3 cm FC/ SH layer < slab. F+. 4F old snow below, sometimes coarse, F+ DH at base.

Avalanche

Interesting that this slide didn't propagate widely. Partly a function of slope size. But it was a big trigger.
