Snowpack

Tour up Snodgrass revealed overall shallow and weak snowpack. Boot penetration in the 65 cm snowpack is 60 cm. 14 cm of recent storm snow is resting on 51 cm of weak faceted snow. Storm snow is settling into a very soft slab. Compression tests indicate that storm snow is slightly cohesive and not bonding with the faceted snow it is resting on --CTE (SC) x2 on 1.0-1.5 mm facets down 15 cm.
