Snowpack

3 to 4" new, very low density snow with very little wind transport. Snowpack is nearly all faceted and ripe for avalanche activity when a load arrives. Observed numerous crowns from natural activity from about 3 weeks ago which failed near the ground. Skier triggered sluffs were entraining surprisingly large volumes, scouring all the way down the the ground and running 1000+ feet, but no slab propagation. Enough snow to bury someone or take them for a traumatic ride though.
