Snowpack
Surface varied from breakable wind crust to soft faceting fragmented particles to sastrugi. I did a lot of probing on the way up and in shallower areas <80cm, the snowpack was mostly faceted and in the fist to four finger range. Average snowdepths were in the 80cm to 120cm range, with fairly weak mixed forms above a softer facet layer near the ground (the attached snow profile is representative). Deeper snowdepths in the couloir (140cm - 180 cm). I dug another hasty pit here and found a strong snowpack with mostly rounded forms except faceting near the surface and mixed forms near the bottom. Hardnesses were mostly 1F to P below the top 30 cm, with ECTX
