Snowpack

Tour up northeast side of Gothic today with CBMG Avalanche Level 1 Course. No surprises with the snowpack out there--50-60 cm of consistently weak faceted snow. Some solar aspects had a weak crust on top. Snowing throughout the day with showery periods of (S2) convective snowfall. Steady moderate winds were blowing down valley although winds aloft were from the west and we observed moderate amounts of blowing snow at all elevations. About an inch of graupel had collected throughout the day in the East River Valley by 4 pm
