Snowpack

Snowcover in the Big Slide Path (east aspect at 10900') was thin ~35cm and variable. Shaded areas and in trees snow structure was very weak, consisting of faceted surface snow progressing to ~3mm depth hoar at the base of the snowpack.Boot pen to ground. In areas exposed to the sun, facets and depth hoar were sandwiched between P-1F melt-freeze crusts, with an average HS of 20cms. Overall snow structure very weak.
