Snowpack

About a foot of well-consolidated snow remains in shady areas in the canyon. Other areas are bare ground or have thin, patchy coverage. The snowpack that exists at river elevation is all melt-forms, top to bottom. There is a chance that some more wintry snow still exists in upper elevation start zones, but the paths that threaten the highway are on the south-facing side of the canyon, and appear to have at least a thick M/F crust. Powerhouse is starting to melt out, but there is still theoretically enough snow to reach the road if it ran wide and full-depth. HS in the start zone was no more than 24", probably less.
