Weather

Some mare's tails-Cirrus clouds. Winds just strong enough to make it chilly on the summit

Snowpack

The North side did not freeze. It was more sloppy than we expected. We descended about 400 vertical & turned tail back to the ridge/summit. Boot penetration to boot top. South side was very nice corn, firm.

Avalanche

An old but large slab on McNamee Peak just north of Mt Democrat. I think it ran the same time the June 1, 2015 avalanche did on south aspect of Mt Democrat. (http://avalanche.state.co.us/caic/obs/obs_report.php?obs_id=36039). However, the flank/crown/debris still look fairly sharp viewed from summit of Mt Democrat so it may be more recent.
