The road was covered with an average of 2-3 feet of snow from Weller Lake to Lincoln Creek and beyond. Snow supply in the paths in the Grotto and Green Mountain areas was low. These paths are very unlikely to produce large avalanches that would reach the road. Southerly facing slopes were mostly bare ground at the Lincoln Creek gate and as far as we could see up the road (at least two miles).
