Weather

Very "spring storm day", with squalls of high precip rates and no visibility,to patches of blue sky. One constant was a strong, gusty west wind.

Snowpack

8 inches of snow in the last 48 hours blanketed a stout crust up to 20cm thick on south aspects near treeline, and supportive to skiers on north. Foot pen below treeline was to ground through crust and supportive (to my weight) near treeline. On north slopes when I jumped around, I could break through to cold snow below. In the Mtn Boy basin floor, snow was still moist to wet when you broke through crust.
