Weather

HS: Cumbres 48", La Manga 36". Cumbres Trestle Snotel gained 1.4" SWE during the last storm, 1/29-31.

Snowpack

No obvious signs of instability aside from isolated collapse.

Avalanche

Only harmless sluffs along the highway corridor. In the backcountry, most activity on the Cumbres side; SSNR2D2 x5 E aspects along ridgelines near TL. One SSNR3D2 well below TL (see photo), NW aspect triggered by sluff from rocks above. On the La Manga side; SSNR2D2 in the S Elk Crk drainage (E at 11200', about 5 mi. NW of La Manga Pass). Looks like it started as a sluff from the cliffs above and might have entrained old layers.
