Snowpack

West side of RMP @ 11,500' snowpack extremely variable between ENE, E, and SE pit locations. HS ranged from 165 to 95cm depending on aspect. Jan 8 FC weak layer varied in depth between 55 and 35 down. This was the problem layer in all 3 pit locations. Pits showed moderate to high strength, poor structure on the E and SE locations, and all had high propagation propensity. FC or FC/MFcr matrix were the problem layers. No failures on basal FC or DH, which were moist and gaining strength. Temperature profile indicated a strengthening mid and bottom pack.
