Clear open skies. Clam wind out of the south west. measured low of our day was minus 1 centigrade. and a high of 5 centigrade.

Snowpack

HS 72cm. small surface hoar and surface facet crust. Small facets of 1 to 1.5 mm in the top 3rd of the snowpack. Around 40cm the snow meets the interface where failure has been nearly constant this year. Between 50 and 40cm the temps jumps from minus 8 centigrade to minus 5. A significant change in grain size also occurs. from 1/1.5 to 3/3.5mm. Below 40 cm we have true depth hoar. Cereal. Structure in the upper third of the pack goes from fist to four and one F until we hit a small ice lense at 46cm. a small 1F gap exists between that and the next pencil hard facet layer located at 40cm. below this is sandy huge grains that just get weaker as you go to the ground.
