Snowpack

The snowpack in this area is thin and weak. Below treeline on W aspects the snowpack was between 20 and 40 cm, with new snow over depth hoar. Near treeline there are several layers of wind slab resting on small facets with large depth hoar near the ground. The current load is very near the breaking point of the old, faceted layers.
