Weather

Mostly calm, with what winds there were veering from NE to SE. S-1 until mid afternoon; then period of S1. Sky obscured, light flat all day. HST 20-25 cm, relatively light density. Sitting on supportable snow from last weekend's storm.

Snowpack

75 cm slab composed of 2 most recent storms. Fist hard at top, 4F+ at base 1 cm fragile crust w ~ 1mm faceted grains above and below ~ 20 cm 4F+ fine facets 5 cm re-frozen facets. 1F ~ 30 cm coarse facets, some rounding. 4F- ECTP 28 at fragile crust. Q1/ SP. No other significant failures. HS 75-100 cm in sheltered areas > 9800' Found icy, re-frozen facet layer in every hand pit above ~ 9800 feet. Closer to ground, harder and more uneven between 9800 and 10800 ft.
