Day 2 of lodge based AST2 course with Kootenay Backcountry Guides. As the day went by the fog started lowering. Near zero temperatures throughout the day at 1250m-2100m. No natural avalanches observed Snow was deep but heavier and less coverage the lower we got. Light flurries throughout the day

Extended column test showed no results. Compression test showed CTE3 - 20cm down sudden planar on facets, CTM17 - 50cm down non-planar break , CTH30 - 80cm down sudden on facets under melt freeze sun crust. Bottom snowpack showed multiple layers of crust with facets.
