Whymper

We were one of many groups that summitted and skied Whymper in great conditions today. We dug a couple pits on the bottom steepish slope. There was a subtle weak layer 30 cm down that didn’t react and the obvious weak layer at the Jan 30 (?) crust 50 cm down that failed planar but only as a slight shift of the column at 28 on compression test in one pit and didn’t fail on the other CT. While skiing there was a bit of sluff to manage.
