Took a little ride down quartz creek towards the cabin, probed at different intervals snow depth at 1680m, junction between Quarts east and cabin was 30cms with the storm dropping another 5cms on top throughout the day and I imagine more into the evening. I scraped the snow away to make a “pit” just to look out of curiosity to see what this new stuff would sit on…not a very reliable seat. Of the 30cms the bottom 3 cms were ice/facets, the middle 20cms were 1-2mm facets with the top 5-7cm being new snow, appearing relatively fine and small flakes from today. Hopefully this second storm doesn’t turn to rain!

Consistent new snow from this second storm, 5-7cms throughout the day. The new snow seem to be bonding nicely but sitting on top of the unstable facets. N/W aspect
