Good skiing on planer slopes today with a supportive base (considering the depth) and good dry powder conditions (with a bit of sun!!). Tree skiing looked way off with many pongees and rock/boulders protruding. HST 70cm to 100cm in sheltered locations. Of note was the obvious cross loading on NE slopes, indicated by the smaller avalanches on many steep N-NE features in Ymir Bowl (with ski tracks adjacent). 30cm ski penetration and a mixture of surface hoar and crusts beneath. All in all a great first day!
