Pit at 2340m alt. Below main N col slope Semi-sheltered aspect Lots of winds and spindrifts up higher near the N col Snow depth >240cm ECT results: Collapse with isolation of the column - 40cm hard slab (ski-crampons style hard pack) - Resting on a 1 cm layer of facets - Resting on another similar density hard wind slab (10cm) - Resting on a 1 cm layer of facets - Resting on another hard slab (1m +) Didn't notice whumphing or propagation but wind carrying was massive up there. Approach slope is a mix of semi-bonded snow and 1 inch thick wind slab. Skiing was a mix of crusty to soft snow.
