Shovelnose FSR access up to 500m before hitting snow, trees were down across the road and some absolute hero work from a snowmobile group clearing the road. Access up to 1200m along the road (w/ 4WD and chains in a high clearance truck). Skin access easy w/ decent coverage up the road (some loose uncovered rocks but skiable/skinable). Cut block had decent coverage but still exposed stumps and early seasons hazards. From 1400-1650M a rain crust with clear rain pitting, very icy, about 2cm of hard ice crust that was impenetrable. Above 1650 - 1900M, same ice crust but breakable with 20-30cm of powder underneath. Did not do a HS (but the other reports from this day have HS info). Wind affected with slight transport to the S/SW (did not notice any significant cross loading or cornices) which had also softened from sun exposure. No slabs or evidence of avalanche - unpleasant ski down the open face back to treeline. Best skiing was in the open trees around 1700-1400M.
