We had a great day skiing at St Cyr. The snow was pretty good above 1200m and pretty terrible bellow to almost inexistant above the highway. We excited via the creek, but I would not recommend it. Our route went up some small solar slopes at tree line which showed obvious signs of instability. The snow pack felt a bit hollow in places, and we felt some decent whumpfing on the way. It was overcast all day, with some fog patches down in the valley. We could see the sun through the clouds in the afternoon and felt like it had some input.

Small hand pit on our way up on a south aspects revealed the new snow is sitting on 15-20cm slab which is sitting on a mix of facets and some surface hoar 40 to 50cm down. We felt some pretty decent whumpfing on 2 opens slopes. On the other side of the ridge, north aspect. The storm snow was deeper and sitting on 2 other slabs. It was stable and bounding well on that side. Some sluffing in steep features.
