Excited to enjoy a great bluebird day in the White Pass, we drove with the hope that the snow from Tuesday was enough and not too wind affected, to enjoy some pow turns. The hope was kind of low when we saw how the wind affected the E and the S aspects. Nothing inspiring. Sastrugi, sastrugi and sastrugi. So we decided to ski Big Kahuna. The way up on Fraser was not pleasant. Thick sastrugi, hard cement snow, hard win crust and firm-textured snow. About the way down. Big Kahuna was horrible. The first half was hard snow where only your edges are holding. The second half was not better. Still cement snow but now mix with sastrugi and firm wind crust. So let’s pray for a reset in the WP !!!
