Flattop Mtn: ATL, E, 10700' Few clouds, light winds, no precip,, no blowing snow,

Snowpack

BTL, E, 10300' HS: 110 - 150, There was significant wind effect on the snow surface at all aspects and elevations in the Bear Lake area of RMNP on 20210224. Intense winds on 2/22 and 2/23 eroded snow from all but the most sheltered slopes ATL and NTL. BTL there was evidence of wind loading in all but the most protected areas. The recent warm-up formed a thin melt freeze layer intermixed with sastrugi on E through S aspects NTL and BTL - poor skiing prior to the current (20210225) snowfall. Persistent Slab is the primary concern: Nov. facet layer (F hard, 4-6mm, DH) is down 100 - 120cm BTL and continues to produce CTH SC results. ECTP24 observed on the same layer.
