Weather

Overcast skies and Snowing intermittently and average S2 all day. Moderate winds from the S moving to the SW later in the day. New snow accumulations around 3” between noon and 16:00

Snowpack

New snow from the past few days totaling 6-10” and becoming more variable with wind transport. Old snow varies from stout crusts to 1F supportive snow.

Avalanche

At 11:30 am noted a small D2 avalanche on the Hollywood face of Red 3. This was mid slope and ran an estimated 150-200 vertical feet. Maybe a cross loaded windslab? Maybe a shallow persistent slab? Height of crown I’d guess 12-16” max. Photo is poor, but the BOS was worse!
