Weather
Valley inversion this morning with 14F observed at the turn to Marble and 10 degrees warmer at the road summit on McClure. Filtered sunshine throughout the day with high overcast skies giving way to scattered cloud cover by midday. The temperature warmed signifcantly to well above freezing. The wind was generally calm with a few light gusts. Evidence of prior wind transport was evident in the Lone Tree Bowl start zone and along the Ragged Mountain road.
Snowpack
While the snowpack is still under 1.5 m at 135cm where I looked, the mid-November weak layer is showing signs of healing. This layer has rounder grains and a large decrease in propagation propensity based on results from a number of propagation saw tests and previous obs on 12/29/2022. The overlying slab is dense and generally 1 finger to pencil hard. See profile and pictures for more details.
