18” or so new snow on melt freeze interface most areas. This specific area is very wind affected with varying depths.

Observed 1 large natural avalanche. Estimating that it ran on the afternoon or evening of January 17, 2023. R3 D2. Combination of storm snow and wind loading that ran close to the ground in most areas. Estimated crown height from 1-6 feet. Estimated width 300 yards across and ran an estimated distance of 250 yards to toe. East aspect of Handkerchief Mesa 11,800 starting elevation
