Weather

Snowing S2 most of the day with roughly 6-8" new by 2:00pm Snow was warm and windy. Rimed stellars and graupel. Between 9300-10,000'

Snowpack

The rimed snow today fell on low density fluff from 2 days ago on the N aspects. On the S aspects it fell on a sun crust from a brief warm up yesterday afternoon. Both interfaces were very reactive in the pm. Particularly touchy on the S aspects running on the crust. Deeper down, there are a couple buried graupel layers but they were very unreactive. Likewise we saw hard results around the Christmas Eve rain crust. So our new/old snow interface is the layer of greatest concern at this point.

Avalanche

Several small skier triggered slides, mostly on S aspects, running on the crust from yesterday. Today the slab was very weak and fell apart right away, but with more snow and winds this pm and tonight, things could get dodgy tomorrow.
