Avalanche

A large portion of the East facing bowl between Parry and Cosgriff peaks slid naturally on March 3, around 3 PM. Local resident heard the avalanche, but the slide wasn't visible until sunrise on March 4. Avalanche debris can be seen in Gordon gulch, a few hundred feet above Twin Lakes. This is same face that slid in 1962, burying and killing 7 people in the Twin Lakes village. Long crown line varies in depth between 2 and 5 feet high. It appears that new snow broke free and slid on top of the interface with older snow.
