Weather

Clear and cold.

Snowpack

Storm snow is slabbing up rather quickly, however less cracking was observed during travel than yesterday. Dug a hasty hand shear pit around 11,400’ on NW aspect. ~100cm snow depth. Storm slab failed at crust/facet interface (~35-40cm below surface) at layer of concern with weak-moderate force with a rather sudden “popping” like behavior. Facets to the ground

Avalanche

Numerous natural avalanches observed on dominantly easterly facing terrain with SE circling the bullseye.
