Increasing clouds accompanied by strong gusts.
Snowpack
Traveled on easterly facing terrain below treeline hovering at 11,000ft. The SE facing aspect offers a supportable to ski crust where snow coverage is present. The due East and Northeast aspect in this small drainage is largely bottomless facets giving way to a 34cm ski pen depth. Overall depth of snowpack ranged from 20cm-50cm. Two decomposing crust layers (P-/1F-) were noted on both east and northeast aspects at this elevation. Loose-Dry sluff behavior could be coaxed on small test slopes with moderate ski pressure. The sluffs were not gouging to ground and appeared to be m riding on a faceted crust ~30cm down (11/1 interface). A 2" wind crust was forming variably on the surface easily cracking underfoot and offering a prelude of touchy conditions to come when the next storm shows up.
