Weather

Overcast skies that changed to light snow by the end of tour. Winds were still southerly at the beginning of tour and switched to NW while we were out.

Snowpack

We ended up in a fairly thin snowpack where there was more grass than snow. On SE aspects near treeline there was a temperature crust on the surface from the brief sun that poked out today. Under the new snow there was another m/f crust from Jan. 8th and facets below that. All in all, not a great setup. On a NE aspect above TL I easily triggered a small pocket of snow on a steep slope showing the very reactive nature of our current situation. We were never in snow deep enough for a proper pit and the majority of the ski was on the road.
