Skies came in through tour. Mostly cloudy by noon. Winds stronger in valley than at 11600 feet.Snow surface moist below treeline on descent.

Snowpack

South slopes average snowdepth 70-120-cm. Did not probe wind loaded areas. Stout crust on surface mostly supportive to skis while frozen. Snow cover on road 60cm - 90cm (approx 1/3-1/2 as deep as this time last year). Grass already beginning to show on steep south slopes. On SE slopes near treeline, the snowpack is primarily facts sandwiched between multiple melt-freeze crusts. Depth hoar rounding at base of snowpack; much less angulated and smaller than depth hoar on colder slopes. 4 CT tests results showed easy-mod SP or SC failures 10 and 23cms below surface. Did not propagate in ECT.
