Snowpack

Dug a profile adjacent to the highway weather plot near the Cliffs Avalanche Area at 10,500'. I observed facets throughout the shallow (~foot deep) snowpack. The storm snow from 1/9-1/11 has started to facet and the previously observed 4F "slab" has lost some resistance and previously observed small rounds have given way to faceted crystals. The lack of slab structure resulted in repeatable ECTN's at the depth hoar interface. SH up to 6mm observed laying flat on the snow surface. There is still lots of surface roughness in the Cliffs avalanche area.
