Weather

Sky obscured half the day, winds SSW light-mod, snow S-1 half of day. Blaring sunshine other half of day. Jekyll and Hyde, but wintry throughout.

Snowpack

Avg HS 130cm. HN24 10cm @9000', 25cm @10200'. W and SW facing structures revealed two crusts down ~80cm sandwiched with ~10cm NSF or near crust FC. Bottom 30cm was FC, not appearing to be DH. New snow seemed mostly well bonded to old in this area on NE-E-SE-S-SW aspects. Few minor whumphs, no cracking.

Avalanche

Multiple point releases noted, a few propagated shallowly in what appeared to only be today's new snow, not the previous 72hrs of snow. All SS-N-R1-D1. Some slid today on rollovers on sunny aspects in the trees. No previous deep slab activity noted even in steep E and ENE facing windloaded bowls.
