Pertly cloudy skies and below freezing temps at 8600'

Snowpack

Snowpack on NW slope at 8600' is 60cm deep and consists of rounding facets and depth hoar. There is one significant melt freeze crust at the surface which still supports a boot. Around 20cm below the surface snow is mist to ground. Start zone stakes at 9400'show 24 inches of snow, there are rollerballs and small loose wet avalanches from the 3/8 cycle in these paths. Eagle and Gilman paths are at NONE. There is also potential for very small loose wet activity from the Redcliffs.

Avalanche

Numerous loose wet avalanches from the 3/8 cycle were observed, often bringing dirt and rock with them.Loose wet avalanches to D1.5 were also observed on east below treeline slopes away from the roadway.
