Bottom of Hanging Valley, snowing heavily. Winds calm at site of the avalanches but strong on ridge.

Avalanche

Triggered one soft slab avalanche, was about 15-20 feet wide and ran down to the cat track at the bottom of the slope. Jumped off the cat track later that day, my impact fractured the slope but not enough energy to slide. Fracture propagated frighteningly quickly across the slope.
