Snowpack
Story of today was looking for buried faceted layers. I am attaching two photos, both hand pits on southern aspects at 10,200 ft. One in an open slope and the other tucked away in the trees. The trees seemed to hold some of that October snow and more open southern aspects lost that October snow before these last few storm cycles.
Avalanche
On our skin to the top of Marble Point we saw what appeared to be a couple of small naturally or perhaps skier triggered avalanches. They broke on a roll over on the storm snow / old snow interface. On an eastern aspect. Elevation about 10,600 ft.
