Weather

Cold, clear, sunny day.

Snowpack

HS was 30-70cm. 10-30cm of 2-4mm facets sits near the ground with 4f to 1f slab over top. An inconsistent, weak pencil minus crust sits just above the facets in places. We had one notable three meter whumpf on a north-facing knoll that collapsed the whole feature. Test results were ECTP(11) x2 on the top of the facets above the ground. Surface cracks propagated down to this layer as well. There is a crust on the surface of steep east and southeast-facing terrain up to 11,000ft.

Avalanche

Two old slabs were visible from across the creek on north and northeast aspects. Suspect they ran during the storm on 12/29.
