11:17am 14,400ft elevation east aspect of glacier peak around 25 feet or so below the ridgeline slope angle was 25 degrees where we dug the pit and most of slope around this area was in the low 30s ECTN 14 broke 30cm from the surface on sugary snow We dug a pit roughly 60cm deep and performed an ECT. At 4 hits from the elbow, a break occurred around 30cm deep that moved about 10cm or so wide. The next hit moved the another 2cm or so along the same layer. I kept going and at the last hit form the elbow it reached about half way across the block. At the 2nd hit from the shoulder it reached the end of the column. Boot penetration in the area was about 2cm at the time we dug the pit.
