Snowpack
On south-facing slopes, the snow cover was noticeably patchy and shallow, with water visibly flowing beneath the snowpack in gullies as early as 9 a.m. In contrast, the northeast aspect, the snowpack is still over 1 meter deep. /where I dug (at 11,200 ft, northeast facing slope), the snowpack was a 2-meter-deep isothermal snowpack, consisting of moist to wet grains throughout. Ice columns had already formed in the upper layers, indicating ongoing melt and percolation.
