Snowpack

Below treeline on N-E facing slopes we observed 5-150 cm of snow to be non-supportive with no layers present, faceted bottom to top. Near and above treeline N-E facing slopes had some denser surface layers from Wind and or Solar affect.

Avalanche

HS- ASu-D1/R1-O Triggered a wind slab avalanche on a 36degree NE facing slope above treeline. Slide went on old snow with a appx. 30 cm crown, then stepped down to ground, running 200-250 ft. ,one Skier Caught. L-Asu-D.5-G Triggered Loose dry sluffs below treeline. Unsupportive facets going on the ground.
